![]() Very Rev. Fr. Peter Gillquist Very Reverend Father Peter Gillquist (attached) was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Minnesota. He went on to graduate work at Dallas Theological Seminary and Wheaten College Graduate School. His career includes serving as regional director for Campus Crusade for Christ; director of development for the University of Memphis; executive positions within numerous boards and foundations, as well as the Evangelical Orthodox Church; senior editor for Thomas Nelson Publishing; and author of many books, including LOVE IS NOW; THE PHYSICAL SIDE OF BEING SPIRITUAL; BECOMING ORTHODOX; and METROPOLITAN PHILIP, HIS LIFE AND HIS DREAMS.He was ordained to the priesthood of the Orthodox Church in 1987, and elevated to the rank of archpriest. In this capacity, he currently serves as chairman of the Department of Missions and Evangelism of the Antiochian Archdiocese of North America, traveling extensively across the country and around the world. His great loves for youth and evangelism converge in his role of chairman of the board for the Orthodox Christian Fellowship. He continues his work as a publisher through Conciliar Press, and most recently was the project director for the ORTHODOX STUDY BIBLE. Fr. Peter is married to Khouria Marilyn Gillquist, our Coordinator of Women’s Fellowship with whom he raised four daughters and two sons. He is the proud grandfather of nineteen. |
